The 2025 competitive season of weightlifting is officially underway. The 2025 Junior Pan-American Weightlifting Championships, in Havana, Cuba, is expected to start things off with a bang this spring.

The Details
- The 2025 Junior Pan-American Weightlifting Championships run from March 9 to 15.
- Athletes aged 15-20 from countries in the Pan-American region are eligible to compete.
- This year’s event is also a qualifier for the 2025 Junior Pan-American Games.
One Big Thing: According to the regulations and due to its status as a qualifier for a Games event, Junior Pan-Ams will utilize the International Weightlifting Federation’s (IWF) updated weight classes, which don’t officially take effect until the summer.
